Shadow on Concrete Wall

A BRIEF HISTORY

Beginning work with the Miskito Indians in 1992 and adding a new people group every few years we have been active for nearly three decades by the Grace of God and the generous support of just couple main givers.  This year marks a big transition to a non-profit multidimensional ministry with increased need and a wider support base.

Check out some of the amazing things the Lord has been accomplishing for His Glory!

HELPING EDIFY

THE BODY OF CHRIST AMONG THE UNREACHED FROM 1992 TO 2023

Here is a pictorial history of our growth...

Here is Pastor Matt's Bio:

  • Matt was saved back in 1982 as a middle schooler.  He fell in love with Jesus and became captivated by the Bible teaching of his pastor, Jon Courson.

  • Just a couple years later he started a Bible study club in his High School and went on a summer mission trip to a migrant worker camp in Mexico.  During that trip the Lord put a deep discontentment in his heart for the normal American life and called him to the cause of missions.

  • In college he studied anthropology and international studies with a focus on Latin America.  His passion for serving the Lord cross culturally only grew with each passing year and by 1992 he had been sent by the Applegate Fellowship to Honduras, Central America, to minister among the Miskito Indians.

  • Over the following sixteen years he would teach the Bible, facilitate church planting, and develop radio broadcasts side by side with his disciples Pastor Ludy for the Miskito Indians and Pastor Eduardo for the Garifunas of Honduras.

  • After taking a sabbatical in 2008, the Lord would redirect him towards an unreached people in the 10/40 window, the Fulani of Nigeria.  From 2009-2011 he learned their language and along with his good friend and language tutor Pastor Jibir, was able to launch a Bible teaching radio ministry for the nomadic, Muslim, Fulani people group.

  • When he was redirected back to Honduras in 2009, the Miskito and Garifuna ministries were expanded and eventually a ministry and radio program to the unreached Mayangnas in the jungles of Nicaragua was added by working with Pastor Cornelio.

  • Matt is married to Heather Joy who he cherishes.  Together they are raising Caleb (age 15), Esther (age 11), and Henry (age 9).  They have settled in Southern Oregon to finish raising their family and further grow their independent nonprofit mission ministry, now called Mission 15:21.  Matt is also a pastor at Calvary Chapel Medford Oregon.
